The Effects of Korean Computer-based Cognitive Rehabilitation Program(CoTras) for the Cognition and Visual Perception and ADL in Brain Injury

Abstract
|
|
|
Objective : The purpose of the study was to verify the effect of a Korean Computer-based cognitive rehabilitation program(called CoTras) for recovering the cognitive and visual perception and ADL ability in acquired brain injury.
Method : 30 Acquired Brain Injury were randomly assigned to CoTras program (intervention group) or general rehabilitation therapy program(control group). Parameter for cognition, visual perception and ADL were measured before and 8 week after intervention and the change were compared between the group. MMSE-K, LOTCA were used to measure cognition, MVPT for visual perception, and FIM for ADL.
Result : CoTras Group improved significantly compared to Control Group Cognition(MMSE-K, LOTCA), Visual perception and ADL scores after CoTras interventions were higher than it`s interventions. Specially, CoTras Group showed positive effects on visual discrimination, visual closure and spatial relation.
Conclusion : Further studies are needed to verify the effect on various group and lots of participants.
